A new face for /home: terminal lettering tangled with mycelium. The living map gets the main monitor, with a cassette player, a phone, and a few favorites around the desk.

The Compendium now grows paths from the routes visitors take. Revisit a connection to keep it alive; leave it alone and it slowly fades. The same living map is on /home.

Eleven more tracks on the entrance page, with titles, tags, and artwork. Wake the terminal and see what comes on.

/recommendations is now <strong>The Curator's Desk</strong>. shelf of cassette-tape strips on the right, CRT in the middle, category index on the left. click a tape and its trailer plays on the TV. games stream from steam directly; movies and shows go through imdb's iframe embed since their api had started bot-blocking the old proxy.

voicemail privacy is now actually enforced. files moved out of /public/uploads to a non-public path; the new /api/voicemail/file/[id] endpoint checks the is_public flag (or admin auth) before serving. the toggle in /admin finally does what it says on the tin.

/health got a table of contents, a prominent disclaimer banner up top, and footnotes on the items that genuinely need them (iodine dosing, oregano cycling, intermittent fasting contraindications). archangel's voice left intact, just bracketed by 'talk to a real practitioner before doing X'.

site-wide security pass. patched: a forgeable game-unlock cookie, missing prerender flags that were baking unauthorized responses into static api files, /api/guestbook/reply was open and let anyone post as 'admin', javascript: URLs sneaking past the guestbook sanitizer, and a few more. invisible from the visitor seat. floor is now level.

media player api was racing with itself under load — every 10s cache tick, N visitors triggered N parallel jellyfin fetches each stomping on the recently-played buffer. one mutex later it's exactly 1 fetch per burst, no buffer corruption, and short tracks back-to-back stay in the history.

not too many changes today. started adding singles to the player and seeing what went wrong. sure enough there was no logic for displaying a thumbnail on a song and it would still primary to the top folder (which it always assumes is the album) so i added a fallback (funnily enough coming full circle) to go ||if i dont get an image from the server ask again for the songs image and use that||
